Dr. Singer always approaches medicine from a perspective of finding the root cause of a patient’s illness, rather than just covering it up or treating the symptoms with drugs.
1. Initial Consultation
After you complete a detailed medical history form, Dr. Singer will sit down with you and take time to listen to your health concerns and goals. He will review your history carefully with you and fully answer any questions you may have.
He may also order laboratory tests. Initial treatment will relieve your urgent symptoms until he can gather all of the facts about your chronic problems.
NOTE: Dr. Singer will not try to squeeze in a full physical exam during the initial consultation. He has found that taking a thorough medical history and performing a focused physical examination is the most efficient way of zeroing in on the most likely causes of your immediate health problems.
2. Comprehensive Diagnostic Testing
Based on the results of your history and physical, Dr. Singer may recommend one or more of the following extensive testing to find out what kind of imbalance is causing your symptoms:
- Laboratory testing
- Radiologic imaging (MRI, CT, ultrasound, or x-ray).
- Any other specific diagnostic procedure needed to identify more completely the root cause of your health problems.
Thorough diagnostics eliminate guesswork and inadequate, superficial management of your condition or symptoms. In many situations, only laboratory tests can steer your healthcare provider in the best direction. Dr. Singer uses the latest and most accurate scientific testing available to give you the best chance at recovery from your illness.
Dr. Singer will explain:
- The reason for ordering each test.
- The testing options available to you.
- The approximate costs involved.
- How to proceed with testing.
- Which tests are urgent and which can be performed later.
Specimens required for lab tests, if indicated, will be taken at this visit. Other necessary testing will be scheduled for you as well.
3. Health Recovery Plan Visit
After your history, physical, and tests have been reviewed, Dr. Singer will formulate a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan for you. During this visit, he will go over the plan with you based on that data to bring each patient back to balance and restoration to good health.
4. Follow-Up Visits
Dr. Singer will review your progress on a regular basis and make course corrections as needed.
You will need to be persistent in following your recommended action plan. Dr. Singer will regularly evaluate your progress to determine the degree to which you are improving. Even if you consistently follow your treatment plan, it may take days, weeks, or many months before you see lasting major improvements. Treating and correcting the cause of illness, in contrast to covering up the symptoms of an illness, always takes time.
Healing almost never occurs in a linear manner. There are mostly improvements and occasional setbacks. However, if you follow our scientific approach and try to address the real underlying cause of your illness, healing takes place with steady improvement.
The body always wants to heal itself and can do so if you do not try to override its natural programming with heavy-handed, unnatural treatments. With just a little push in the right direction, we can set you on the path to wellness.
